Develop your parenting style with transformative teaching… A coach won’t just help you incorporate self-help tips into your life but hold you accountable for the action plan you’ve collaborated on with the goal of keeping you on a path to change. Inquiry is an art form, which when mastered yields exquisite results for you and your clients. Through questioning, clients uncover aspects of their selves in such a way that they feel empowered and trust that they can create the life they say they want to have. They experience their strengths. Their weaknesses are reframed in a way that generates positive perspectives. The intention of this form of inquiry, is to truly serve the clients in revealing, recognizing and acknowledging their essences, the survival mechanisms and strategies and the strength and courage inherent in their being, which allowed them to come this far unaided. Through coaching, they are supported and empowered to choose alternatives so as to generate results that serve them to live life effortlessly and fully.
Transformational coaching draws its roots from a number of places and schools of thought. It takes what has proven valuable in old-school coaching methods and draws them together with new and deeper insights. In fact, transformational coaching is part of such an evolutionary process, gradually developing and adapting from other methods, you can’t even pin down when such a ‘thing’ started. This brings something incredibly powerful to coaching because it brings to the client all the benefits of learning which have gone before, and connects them on a deeper, more substantial, level. Once you have written a development area for each segment, you can then start to rate yourself out of 10 on these skills (The band closest to the centre being a 1, and the outer band being a 10) – be as honest as you can! Completing these on a weekly or monthly basis can help you to keep track of your skills and make it easier to see how far you have come. Recognising your areas of development can only encourage you to keep achieving! If you find it hard to recognise your strengths or weaknesses, another way is to try to understand how others see you. Ask those around you what adjectives they associate with you, how they experience interactions with you, and where they think your strengths and weaknesses lie. Start to apply their feedback, and see how it affects your personal development… This is a great start to evaluating yourself!
One way forward is to identify the ever changing needs of your customers in terms of the strategic plan of the organisation and its current workforce. Following up with research is the action plan for the training strategy and once that has been completed, focusing on the training goals. If the required systems and resources are in place the training can begin. This is complemented by on-going monitoring and when the training is through, an evaluation and assessment of the trainees as well as the training process should be implemented. It is only by doing this that the firm will be able to assess the cost and benefit of the money it has spent, delivering training to staff, with confidence.
